Goals & Vision boards for 2022 | Morristown NJ Family Photographer
Do you make GOALS as well as Vision Boards at the beginning of the New Year or do you trickle them in throughout the year? If you follow me on Instagram you will see that I have been working on my Vision Board for 2022 , which was a new thing for me & kinda stressful at first, but once I got started it began to flow & actually be fun.
As far as goals, I make those every year but most of my goals tend to be older goals that I have written down, that I dream of doing, but life tends to get in the way. The year flies by & those goals end up rolling over to the next year. When I sat down this year I realized that all the goals I have for this year are older goals.
I am finding that if I share those goals & visions I tend to focus on those more in order to make them happen…so here we go 2022.
My #1 goal is less procrastinating. I am really good at procrastinating…it’s more out of fear for me rather than laziness. For example I am really, really good at putting off procedures (cough cough…colonoscopy) because of fear. But this year…less fear more doing.
Smaller biz goals this year, at this moment in time, are to trickle in more mini sessions rather than just the Christmas minis that I do at the tree farm. My plan is to start with “Love My Mama” minis in the Spring as well as a Summer mini session….I am thinking something with popsicles or watermelon. I will probably do the Summer minis as a Pop Up Mini just for the kids. I will post here on the blog as well as in my newsletter when those come to life.
Bigger biz goals are FINALLY opening a shop on my website. I mean it’s been there but nothing has been on it lol. It’s been one of my goals literally for years now. This is the year people lol. Hmmmm what will be in the shop you ask? Well for sure there will be fun prints to purchase as well as an easier place for clients to purchase gift certificates. But…I am letting you in on a little secret so you all can hold me accountable…kids tees! Yep. I hope to add some cute kids tees to the shop as well. This is something I have always wanted but always pushed to the side for a few reasons….money being #1 & knowing how much work it actually is. But Jade is getting older & more independent now. For those who didn’t know, I have been in the kids clothing industry. It’s where I started out…went to college for…worked in for YEARS as a kids clothing designer, before staying home with Jade. So I know how hard it can be to get into. But it is still something that can be a lot of fun especially being my own thing….plus my hubby is a REALLY AMAZING graphic designer…more on what he has brewing on his end in an other post because I don’t wanna steal his thunder ;)
What does all of this mean for the photography side of things. Nothing! I will still be taking photography clients! I am just planning to streamline the booking process more. I will have set dates in place for clients to book but during the slower part of the season I am going to be focusing on the shop & other goals as well.
So many goals/dreams but for now these are at the top of the list so this is what I want to be held accountable for. Thanks for sticking around for this very long post!
I would love to hear some of your goals! Put them out into the Universe so we can all help you achieve them! Tag me on social media with those goals or post them in the comments below!
