Woodland Wonderland Cake Smash | Bayne Park | Morristown NJ Photographer

I think this above image is one of my fave pics of all time. I mean that face! Some might say I am cruel being it’s a crying baby pic, but this truly shows how unpredictable children this age are. It happens so often. You don’t know how they will react during a cake smash until you are actually in it.

When I showed up to this session, sweet Austin was all smiles….a total ham. Mom joked to me that her older son was attached to her during his 1st baby cake smash and when I saw Austin’s smiles I thought her second born would give her the complete opposite reaction.

…And then I took out my camera and started snapping away.

The smiles went away. You could tell he wanted to get into that cake…but not with me and my camera watching him lol. He thought to himself, maybe if I use my foot to smash into the cake she won’t see me :) I put on a longer lens so I can be even further away from him…but he knew I was still there lol. We kept the session short and I captured him in this moment and yes we got some smiles but we also got the tears…and that is ok. I mean look at that adorable face in that image above!

Happy 1st Birthday sweet Austin. Mom and dad, these will be some fun images to look back on with him when he is 15 :) Not to mention drool over that amazing cake you designed!

Like the old song goes, “It’s My Party and I’ll Cry if I want to!”.
