That said - because it’s so beautiful and well-known by other photographers, it can get pretty crowded, especially during peak foliage season. When we choose this location, I always plan carefully around timing and light to make sure your family photo session still feels relaxed and natural.
Loantaka Brook Reservation - Open Field, Rustic Charm & Sunset Glow
For families who love a more rustic vibe and that dreamy golden-hour light, this location gives us:
• Taller grasses
• Tree-lined paths + a small wood bridge
• Gorgeous sunset backlight
It’s relaxed, natural, and perfect for playful sessions where kids can move and explore.
A Quiet Local Park in Morris County (My Hidden Gem 🤍)
There’s also a quiet little park in the Morristown area that I absolutely love using and it is my #1 go to for family sessions.
It has:
• The most beautiful Soft glowy light
• Open green space
• A peaceful, tucked-away feel away from the crowds
