Why I’m Dreaming of a Cozy Photography Studio in Morristown & Morris County NJ
I’ve been sitting with an idea for a while now. The kind that pops into your head, hangs out quietly, and then suddenly refuses to be ignored anymore. And I think I’m finally ready to say it out loud and maybe even manifest it into reality 😅
I’m thinking about renting a small studio space in the Morristown, NJ area so I can bring my Pop Up Minis out of my cold garage and into a cozy, warm studio setting.
Still very much my style.
Think natural light vibes, very simple setups, minimal to no props and lots of joy. Nothing stiff or overly styled… unless we want to go full Vogue. Then yes, we are absolutely styling 😉
Why a Photography Studio Makes Sense for Families in Morris County NJ
When I first dreamed up my Pop Up Minis, I imagined them as ongoing personality portraits, the kind families could come back to again and again as their kids grow.
Toothless smiles.
New Braces.
Cool Glasses.
New haircuts or Purple Hair.
Brand New Confidence.
All the little shifts in between that somehow happen way too fast.
Having a studio space would truly bring this vision to life. It would make it easier to document those changing personalities year after year, in a consistent, comfortable setting that lets your kids just be themselves.
Outdoor Family Photography in Morristown NJ Is Still Here
I want to say this very loud and very clear: I am not giving up outdoor sessions.
If you love those, I’m still booking them. That late afternoon/early evening light? It’s still my favorite thing to photograph.
A studio would simply open the door to:
Daytime sessions
Colder months
And honestly… a much-needed backup from my biggest stresser - WEATHER
Less weather stress alone might be reason enough 😅
Another BIG Reason? Pet sessions in Morristown NJ! 🐶🐾
I would love to offer more pet sessions, and a small studio would be perfect for that.
No muddy paws.
No freezing humans.
Just happy pups and fun furry portraits that let their personalities shine.
The Practical Side (AKA: The Part I’m Nervous About)
There’s a small studio space I’m keeping my eye on. If it works out financially 🤞, the big thing would be making sure I can keep it going. Which means bringing in sessions consistently throughout the week.
So if this sounds like something you’d be interested in…or you know someone who would be as well…
Please, please, please share it with them.
And if anyone happens to know of any small studio spaces with lots of beautiful natural window light, I’d love to hear about them too.
My Brain Is Already Spinning With Ideas…
Valentine’s Day sessions
Love Your Mama photos
Casual lifestyle headshots
Branding photos
…and so much more
Most of these would be minis, but I’d absolutely be open to longer, more private sessions as well.
I’m even toying with a punch card idea…book a certain number of sessions throughout the year and once you fill your card, you earn a free session. Kind of like what you do at your favorite coffee shop ☕️(Still very much dreamland… but fun to think about!)
So… Am I Crazy? 😅
I really want your honest thoughts.
Would you consider booking studio sessions like this with me?
If you have a second, I’d love for you to tell me:
Would you book something like this?
What kinds of sessions would you love to see most?
Or even just a “yes please,” “hmm maybe,” or “Dawn, you are out of your mind!”
I want to hear it all and keep the conversation going.
So many of you have supported me for years, and I truly value your feedback more than you know. Thank you for always cheering me on and for reading all the way to the bottom.
Don’t miss the cute photos below 💛
