When I walk into someone’s home I have never met before I am always a nervous wreck. I do my best not to show it but believe me I am. Being really shy (or introverted) my whole life I have always had a hard time making small talk and for the most part feel awkward around new people I meet.

What better way is there to freeze this sweet family’s story but through images? Those early days and weeks of a new baby coming home are such a blur aren’t they? We want to remember every little detail and we think we will.

When we first moved to this neighborhood there weren’t too many kids. Once we had Jade we noticed there were a few others, but really not that many.

This has been the year of Newborn sessions for sure! It’s been the most I have done since starting this little biz of mine back in 2017. It’s so nice to see the good that has come out of 2020.

I love in-home newborn sessions.

So you are in love, but also tired….over the moon with joy, but also completely overwhelmed. You booked your in-home newborn photos months ago before this tiny, precious being made his or her way into your home. You had all of these plans of what you would wear in these photos…but then baby came and life got real crazy real fast and plans of that beautifully curated wardrobe went out the door. You are in a panic! You think “what will I put this tiny, fragile little being in”…let alone even think of yourself! “Help! What Do I Wear??”.

I know I say this every year….I am going to blog EVERY SINGLE SESSION! And then life comes rolling in and I don’t get around to blogging EVERY SINGLE SESSION. I always want to, I say I am going to, I get excited about blogging as the start of the new year comes around and then I just don’t finish! So this year instead of saying I am blogging every session, what I am going to say instead is “I will TRY my best to blog more”.

es 2020 sucked real bad (2021 you aren’t much better to be honest!), but there were definitely two positives as far as our family is concerned.

Newborn sessions might look very different now than they did in the past, but they are still so important! Those first few weeks your precious new baby will change so much. It is so important to document those early moments. Their skinny, long fingers will begin to turn into chubby little sausages after the first month or so.
